  • Why a sore throat freaks me out.

    2

My daughter woke up this morning complaining of a sore throat. Not a horrible sore throat, mind you, just your run of the mill scratchy throat, most likely attributed to the dry weather and allergies that come about this time of year. Normally, this wouldn't bug me, but this year it does. Every sniffle, cough and general flu like symptom makes me a worried wreck that it's the swine flu. Ugh. As if we don't have enough in life to worry about as parents...now we have this uber flu bug on top of it.

The good news is my daughter doesn't have a fever or any aches and pains, but since school started last week the worry has begun. I'll be keeping an eye on her and my son and driving them crazy with the question "did you wash your hands?!" until this flu season ends. Again I say...Ugh.

Have a good day everyone and remember...Wash your hands!!!!!

  • Seems like forever

It's been so long since I've logged into this account. It's actually been so long that Xanga doesn't even send me my sub information by e-mail anymore. So much has happened in my life since my last visit, I can't even begin to write about it. Have you ever felt so overwhelmed by things that you can't think of anything to say? That would be me right now. Anyway, I'm hoping that changes. I miss having this creative outlet, but at this point, I've been gone so long I'm not sure I can even come back.

If anyone still reads this, here's wishing you a wonderful Monday and beautiful week.

    Going well

All is going well here.  My husband is in his second week of training and so far so good. He likes the people he's working for which is half the battle. The only down side is our insurance doesn't kick in until mid September, which is  a bit of a worry, especially when you have kids. Other than that, it's all good.

Been busy with work lately.  Thankfully my work load has increased a bit which means I've been typing a lot. Consequently, by the end of the day I'm pretty much brain dead. I really do intend to update more often, but seriously, by the time I'm done typing out endless complaints from people, my mind is numb. So...bear with me, I'll get the hang of Xanga again soon...I hope!

    Hey everyone...

    yogatherapy

Sorry it's been awhile. I needed a break.  When things are stressful for me I tend to withdraw, kind of like a hermit. I've been told  it's an annoying quirk of mine, but it's how I handle things.

My husband  went in for a job interview today with a company that looks promising. They called his recruiter and told him they liked my husband and would like to "move forward" with  him. We don't know exactly what  that means, but the recruiter said  we should be  hearing  from them within the next week or so.  So, we're still in limbo, but a bit more positive limbo than we have been in quite some time (if that makes sense).  Until we  find out more we'll just keep praying and  hanging onto faith.  What else can we  do?

Hope everyone is doing  well. I'll try to get back here  and catch up on people's blogs. A couple of weeks away in the Xanga universe is like a lifetime!

    Have a great weekend!

  • Checking In

Hey everyone. Just checking in to let everyone I'm still alive.  I haven't felt much like posting here this week...I've been trying to focus on other things outside of our situation to keep things in perspective, and blogging tends to make me focus too much on myself. It's been a rough week. My husband has been putting his resume out there and meeting with job recruiters, but so far nothing.  He's been going through  some depression, which has been hard.  I hate to see him down.

I just want to say thank you all for your comments and prayers.  They are very, very appreciated. We are very hopeful that something will open up for him soon.  It's kind of a scary thing, not knowing what will happen next.  That's what makes life interesting, though...isn't it?

Personally, I'd like a less intersting, totally safe life right about now.  I know, I know...dream on.

I hope everyone has a great weekend...I'll be back to update when I can.
